2 out of 3 developers are professionals in technical careers

A survey reveals that programmers, also known as developers, are self-taught by nature and that they continue to learn constantly in this modality.

This has been pointed out by HackerRank, which allows developers to find jobs.

Specifically, it indicates that 74% of the developers are self-taught.

It also ensures that Stack Overflow and YouTube are the two most used resources by these professionals.

The survey suggests that more than 25% started programming before age 16.

This proportion increases in developers between 45 and 54 years, of which 47% already programmed before that age.

That is why it is believed that the 8 and 16-bit computers and the first PCs got these professionals started to be attracted to programming.

Younger programmers have a different experience in this regard.

Those who are between 18 and 24 years old have started later: only 20% had programmed before the age of 16.

Which could indicate that this task today is not considered a kind of hobby.
