What makes today so special?

Well, if you’re in the US, it’s the beginning of a long Memorial Day weekend.

Many schools are out.

People skipping work to turn it into a 4-day holiday stretch.

There is no usual rush hour traffic. At least in my neck of the forest.

As I was walking around my sub this morning, I could FEEL the energy and the good mood most folks are in.

But as for me, this is how usually roll.

Friday, Sunday, Monday… it’s all the same to me.

Other than getting up early on school days, not much else changes.

The 10-second commute down the stairs.

The freedom to start my “workday” when I choose.

The ability to do it from wherever I want (home, the beach, coffee shop, or the patio in my backyard.)

Every day feels like the beginning of a long holiday weekend to me.

I’m very thankful for it. And I know most would crawl over broken glass on their hands and knees to have this kind of freedom.
