The school demands a new emotional scenario

The easier society is, the more it takes to recognize and deal well with the knowledge of emotions.

The more well society becomes, the more it needs, in order to stay balanced, to be trained to recognize and deal with emotions well. Knowing how to communicate the semantics and syntax of emotions is a capacity and an inescapable sensibility for those who want to be co-protagonists, attentive, critical, and responsible in the scenario of the 21st-century world. We live in a post-patriarchal society, where relations between superiors and subordinates, in any sphere of social life, are no longer taken for granted but are the object of negotiation; In this context, a more attentive and cautious sensitivity towards nuances and greater flexibility of social behavior is indispensable (Norbert Elías, 1988).

To the same extent that social distances (between generations, between gender, between professionals and clients …) and geographical distances are decreasing (between different cultures and subcultures …), psychological distances are increasing. This is the main reason why a radical reform of our educational system is necessary; we must go from a school that used to recognize and respect social…
