How does your body affect air pollution?

Air pollution can also exacerbate other respiratory conditions

Research indicates that toxic gases such as nitrogen dioxide and small contaminating particles can cause severe damage to health.

Particles known as “particulate matter” (PM) can reach the deepest places in the body and cause permanent damage.

Those people who suffer from asthma, are more prone to the risks because the stale air can cause chronic problems and generate an attack.

That is why in London it takes place a special investigation, it consists of each child carrying an air monitoring backpack.

The bag or backpack is equipped with instruments that measure the nitrogen dioxide and the smallest particles, called MP2.5.

One of the reasons why this study is done is that breathing contaminated air at a young age can have lifelong consequences.

The concern arises from the conclusion that some studies have shown in this regard.

And they point out that the life expectancy of children born today will be reduced by an average of 20 months as a result of contaminated air.

Only in South Asia, a reduction in life expectancy of 30 months is estimated, while in Latin America it is nine.
