How algorithms work behind Google, Netflix, Facebook, Amazon, and Twitter

Algorithms are intelligent systems able to deduce the behavior of users, anticipate their decisions and predict behavior. They are responsible for feeding data to tools such as Facebook, Netflix, Amazon, Twitter, and the Google search engine.

Netflix was refining processes of selection, compilation, and analysis of data about what its users see and how they value it. With this information, he created a learning algorithm that recalculates the recommendations profile of more than 250 million users every 24 hours.

The information collected is very precise and allows you to deduce what are the consumption habits, moods or behavior patterns. It contemplates the frequency in which the subscribers are connected, the time they watch and until what content the phenomenon of marathons in the network causes. These data are used to determine which type of content may have more acceptance at a global or regional level and which material has a higher probability of success.

The king of algorithms is the Google Page Rank (PR) that responds in a blink with results not only ordered but adjusted for relevance and importance.
