Facebook and a consortium of twenty-seven partners presented “Libra”, a new cryptocurrency, this June 18. Its goal: to create a new global currency and establish the foundations for an unprecedented universe of financial services.

It is a very ambitious vision, but what exactly does it mean and what will be possible with the pound? This is the basic information:

What is Libra?

It is a cryptocurrency designed for immediate shipments and practically without quotas all over the world.

It is built on the same principles as bitcoin. However, the intention is that Libra, unlike Bitcoin, has a stable value backed by a handful of international currencies such as the dollar, the euro and the yen.
